The Lakers are off to a 3-1 start after their 105-109 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Monday. Like previous games, throughout the night, Anthony Davis had a stellar performance to lead his team against the Suns, whom they defeated in the second regular season game.
Following the game against the Suns, Davis weighed on their loss. AD showed a balanced perspective, acknowledging the difficulty of winning every game in an NBA season.
“Nobody in history won 82. We don’t expect to lose, but we’re realistic. Obviously, we don’t want to start off with the first loss on this trip. I’m happy with the way guys competed and played extremely hard,” Davis said.
The Lakers’ next matchup is against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Lakers legend is determined to avoid a losing streak. “That’ll be a challenge for us all year. Never lose two in a row,” Davis said.
Anthony Davis Shines Despite Lakers’ Loss To The Suns
Anthony Davis continued his impressive start to the season in the Lakers’ recent game against the Phoenix Suns, where LeBron James intentionally missed a free throw. Davis scored 29 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and added three assists and three blocks. Although the Lakers fell to the Suns, bringing their record to 3-1, Davis’ performance marked a historic start for the star center.
Davis is currently averaging 32.8 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game while shooting 55% from the field. His high-scoring average marks the most points per game by a center at the start of a season since Shaquille O’Neal in 2000.
