Eve Wembanyama, the older sister of San Antonio Spurs’ rookie Victor Wembanyama, has a message for the folks who fell for her during Thursday’s NBA Draft.
The 21-year-old Eve was with Victor during the draft, held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The 19-year-old Victor, regarded as the greatest basketball prospect in a generation, went first overall to San Antonio.
On her Instagram story, Eve posted a photo of herself with Coyote, the Spurs mascot. In the caption, she wrote, “Sorry y’all… I’m taken.”
Eve, who plays for Monaco in the LF2 Basketball League, is also a star basketball player. A video of her dominating on the court began going viral over the weekend.
This year marked the third instance in franchise history where the Spurs held the first overall pick. They drafted David Robinson and Tim Duncan first overall in 1987 and 1997, respectively, and both emerged as MVP winners and Hall of Famers.

Robinson and Duncan led the Spurs to NBA Championships in 1999 and 2003. The latter continued the Spurs’ dynasty following Robinson’s retirement, leading San Antonio to three more championships in 2005, 2007 and 2014.
The 7-foot-5 Wembanyama spent this past season with the Metropolitans 92 club of LNB Pro A in France.
