At 7-foot-1 and 258 pounds, Minnesota Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert is one of the tallest active players in the NBA.
But when Gobert stands beside top 2023 NBA Draft prospect Victor Wembanyama? The size difference is quite telling.

Tacko Fall, who briefly played for the Cleveland Cavaliers last season, was previously the tallest NBA player at 7-foot-6. Boban Marjanović of the Houston Rockets and Kristaps Porziņģis of the Washington Wizards are the tallest players currently under contract in the NBA at 7-foot-3 apiece.
Wembanyama plays for the Metropolitans 92 of the LNB Pro A in France. He led France to a silver medal (they lost to the United States) at the 2021 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup games in Latvia. Previously, played for the ASVEL Basket club of LNB Pro A.
The 18-year-old Wembanyama is regarded as the most likely player to go first overall in next year’s NBA draft. Some pundits and scouts have even compared him to Milwaukee Bucks superstar and two-time league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo as well as Brooklyn Nets standout and future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant.
Wembanyama is also considered by some to be the best NBA draft prospect since LeBron James.
Gobert, who spent his first five seasons with the Utah Jazz, was traded to the Timberwolves in an offseason blockbuster that included four first-round picks. His ex-Utah star teammate, Donovan Mitchell, was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Gobert joins a Minnesota team led by 2020 first overall pick Anthony Edwards and another big man in 6-foot-11 superstar Karl-Anthony Towns, the top selection of 2015.
