Days removed from the end of Victor Wembanyama’s French league career, fans had the chance to watch his 8-foot wingspan at work on the baseball diamond for a moment. Before he took the mound to throw the ceremonial first pitch in the New York Yankees’ game tonight against the Seattle Mariners, Wemby went viral for gripping a baseball.
It’s notable because he made it look like a toy.
Victor Wembanyama eventually got to the mound and his throw was just a tad bit off.

He’s in New York to presumably be selected with the San Antonio Spurs’ No. 1 pick at the 2023 NBA Draft on Thursday.
The 19-year-old averaged over 20 points and 10 rebounds a game for Metropolitans 92 in France’s LNB Pro A last season.
He is expected to be the next biggest thing in the league for years to come.
