After the Washington Wizards waived him earlier this season, Alex Len was eyeing a return to the league and saw the Indiana Pacers as a potential landing spot. However, this opportunity has fallen through and left the center once again searching for a new team.
Recent reports reveal that the former Sacramento Kings star will no longer be joining the Pacers team. The news comes just after Len had expressed optimism about signing with the Pacers. Despite playing in 36 games this season, the Wizards decided to waive him shortly after acquiring him in a trade with the Kings.

Now, following the collapse of his potential deal with the Pacers, reports suggest that the Los Angeles Lakers are showing mutual interest in bringing Len on board. The Lakers, who were involved in a trade for Mark Williams that ultimately fell through, could see Len as a valuable addition to their frontcourt.
Before being traded, Len had struggled to find consistent minutes with Sacramento, averaging only 1.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and 0.2 steals per game. Len’s NBA journey began back in 2013. After spending five seasons with the Suns, Len went on to play for the Toronto Raptors, the Wizards, and finally the Kings.

After playing 247 NBA games, Okafor has spent recent years exploring opportunities outside the league, both overseas and in the NBA G League. His most recent G League stop was with the Indiana Mad Ants, the Pacers’ affiliate team. His familiarity with the Pacers’ organization could be a key factor in his return.
