LeBron James has delivered several historical performances in his 21-year-long career, including Game 6 of the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics, which helped the former decorate their cabinet with one more championship trophy.
The Heat were losing the series by 3-2 and reached the TD Garden only forty minutes before the game. This worried the players, but LeBron came to their rescue, as disclosed by former player and VP of Basketball Development for Heat, Udonis Haslem on “The OGs” podcast.
Haslem said, “The bus – that’s when they pissed him off. We literally showed up to the game 40 minutes on the clock. The Bus (from the) Boston Hotel… took 45 minutes to get to the game. And the bus was already 10 minutes late from dropping the other guys off and coming back. We walk in there, and we look at that time, and Dwyane says, ‘We got 40 minutes.’ Bron has this look on his face that says, ‘Don’t worry about it.’… it was unbelievable.”
The Heat rode on LeBron’s shoulders in the game, who finished with 45 points while shooting at 73.1% from the floor, besides grabbing 15 rebounds and crushing the Celtics Big 3. The game ended at 98-79 in Miami’s favor, and all credit goes to LeBron’s masterclass.
Though King James helped the Heat keep their championship hopes alive by tying the series and later winning it, Haslem claimed that someone else was more important in the franchise’s success story.
Udonis Haslem Claimed Chris Bosh Was More Important Than LeBron James in Heat’s Success
Udonis Haslem revealed in an earlier episode of the same podcast that, from his perspective, the 39-year-old was not the most valuable player among the Heat’s then trio: LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.

“Everybody think that our most important player was Bron. Our most important player, not our best player, but our most important player was CB [Chris Bosh],” said the 3-time champion. Justifying his view, he said that LeBron could be replaced with Wade if the former went down, but the others could not replicate the skills and impact that Bosh brought to the table.
During his time in Miami, LeBron tasted glorious success twice and went on to bag two more with the Cavaliers and Lakers. Despite the early playoff exit this season, LeBron hasn’t given up on the dreams of winning another Larry O’Brien Trophy to put an end to his illustrious career.
