Tyrese Haliburton Asks Barack Obama About His Hilarious ‘Key And Peele’ Olympics Moment With Team USA
Team USA won the Paris Olympics 2024 basketball gold medal, their fifth straight Olympic gold medal. Ahead of the Olympics, former US President Barack Obama unintentionally recreated a popular ‘Key and Peele’ skit. Recently, Obama explained the hilarious incident in his interview with Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton on the debut episode of ‘Young Man and the Three.’
During the podcast, Haliburton revealed that the former US President greeted the team in Las Vegas ahead of the Paris Olympics 2024. The Pacers guard claimed he received a “big dap” from Obama while coach Mark Few got the ‘Key and Peele’ treatment. Obama couldn’t control his laughter and explained the hilarious incident.
“That was funny. I’m going down the row. A lot of those guys I knew. And then right before I got to Coach Few, it’s Steph, it’s LeBron. I’ve been knowing those guys forever. I’ve had dinner with them, their families,” he said.
“So, then Coach Few, I had never met. And he put out his hand. So, I’m like, ‘alright, I don’t know is he going to be comfortable if I pull him into a bro hug.’ I don’t know. So, I just shook his hand,” Obama added. “Kerr was right afterwards and Steve I knew. But the way it played out, I will say it looked just like that Key & Peele skit.”
