The Atlanta Hawks recently played the Houston Rockets in an intense game at State Farm Arena. Trae Young and Dillon Brooks had a fiery exchange that definitely added some spice to the game.
With just 50 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Young made a bold drive toward the basket but was sent sprawling by Brooks right before he could dish out the pass. Then, Dyson Daniels swooped in, took the charge, and nailed a layup. As Young approached his teammates, he shoulder-checked Brooks, triggering a lively exchange between them and involving both officials and security.
In the heat of the moment, Brooks dared to grab Young’s neck and give him a little nudge. The atmosphere on the court became electric as players scrambled to calm the situation down. After the game, Young defended his actions following the referees’ decision to call a technical foul on him for an alleged headbutt on Brooks.
“Nah. I didn’t get an explanation. They told our coaches that I head-butted (Brooks). That’s terrible. He’s 6’6″ my head is at his chin. He knows what he’s doing. The refs tonight, I’m trying to save my money,” Young said.
