According to the recent reports by NBA analyst Evan Sidery, the New Orleans Pelicans and the Cleveland Cavaliers are expected to re-engage in trade talks centered around Darius Garland this offseason. He also mentioned that if Donovan Mitchell stays in Cleveland, swapping Garland for Brandon Ingram makes sense for both sides.
It might be a good idea to pair him with Mitchell in Cleveland. Although Ingram is a talented small forward, he has been dealing with injuries and might be better suited as a backup. Garland’s performance has declined since playing with Mitchell. He seemed poised for a breakthrough, so it could simply be a matter of fit. Due to this, some roster changes will benefit the team.
This trade could be advantageous for both teams and players. The Cavaliers may have strengthened their lineup with the addition of Mitchell, Ingram, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen. If no deal is reached, there will be much speculation about these players.
