For Toronto to land a big time trade this offseason, it is obvious that will have to give up an upset or two to make a deal happen.
Both Kevin Durant and Deandre Ayton have been mentioned as possible trade targets for the Raptors. According to Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer, Toronto is not willing to give up Scottie Barnes for either player.
“The Raptors are the most obvious team fitting that description. For Toronto to land Ayton, the Raptors would need to sacrifice valuable players or picks in a sign-and-trade that could be used for Durant instead. Of important note regarding Toronto: Multiple sources with knowledge of the situation say the Raptors are unwilling to part with reigning Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes.”
Brooklyn is reportedly looking for an All-Star player younger than 25 years old, per ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.
Should the Durant asking price remain too high, the Raptors continue to monitor the Ayton market, per Fischer.
While Durant is a great player, the Raptors are hesitant in letting Barnes walk away for this kind of transaction to push through. He is one of the best players on the Raptors, and he’s just 20.
Barnes is the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year. The 20-year-old averaged 15.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game in his first NBA season.

He is only getting better as the years go by as Durant continues to get older and will soon be out of the league or a shell of his former self.
Durant trade discussions are expected to extend for weeks if not months as the Nets continue to scour the market for the best offer.
