TNT has been a long-standing source of entertainment for NBA fans worldwide. The TNT sports television channels have been a prominent platform for basketball news and broadcasting coverage for many years. Owned and operated by Warner Bros, TNT has brought many exciting shows to basketball fans, including the immensely popular “Inside the NBA.” Unfortunately, TNT will no longer be able to entertain fans as their broadcasting media rights will end after the following season.
According to reports, TNT failed to secure a deal with the National Basketball Association, which led to a new contract between the NBA and Amazon for broadcasting rights. However, a few hours after the announcement of the new agreement, TNT Sports released a statement regarding taking legal action against the NBA for unjustly rejecting their matching of a third-party offer.
“Given the NBA’s unjustified rejection of our matching of a third-party offer, we have taken legal action to enforce our rights. We strongly believe this is not just our contractual right but also in the best interest of fans who want to keep watching our industry-leading NBA content with the choice and flexibility we offer them through our widely distributed WBD video-first distribution platforms ― including TNT and Max. We look forward, however, to another great season of the NBA on TNT and Max, including our iconic ‘Inside the NBA.’” TNT Sports statement.
Following the deal, the Hall of Famer Charles Barkley released a statement expressing his dissatisfaction with the outcome.
NBA’s Unexpected Move Leaves TNT Fans Devastated
Many fans who enjoyed watching TNT around the world were devastated by the decision. The admirers voiced their opinions in the post’s comment section and grew outspoken about the problem.
One fan said, “Why pay them any money? Just host the same show on YouTube, pull in sponsors, run ads, and reach even more people. The NBA lets ppl use highlights anyway. If they blocked u from doing it, sue them and say they don’t have an issue with anyone else doing so.”

Another fan mentioned, “Boycott the NBA unless they keep Ernie, Kenny, Shaq and Chuck.”
Another fan commented, “If the National Basketball Association cared about its fans it would give the contract to TNT.”
Whatever the outcome, TNT has already left a lasting impression on the fans. For a number of years, sports fans were delighted by Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, and other hosts.
