The Denver Nuggets have had a rollercoaster start to the season, posting a 10-7 record. This performance comes after the team opened with two consecutive losses, fueling Nikola Jokic’s urgency to get the Nuggets back on track. Despite the team’s struggles, Jokic has remained in peak form, showcasing his ability to lead from the front.
The Serbian center’s dominance on the court is nothing new and has even sparked admiration from NBA legend Larry Bird, who recently imagined what it would be like to face Jokic in a game. Bird shared his thoughts on Jokic during an interview on NBA on TNT with Reggie Miller and Isiah Thomas. When asked by Miller about Jokic, Bird was effusive in his praise.
“I would love to play against him. He’s good. There’s so many great centers over the history of our game,” the Boston Celtics legend said.

“Man, is he good? I just hope he stays healthy and able to continue to do what he does because he is fun to watch. Probably more so than anybody in the league. He makes that whole thing go, and wouldn’t he be fun to play with?” Bird added.
Kevin Garnett Criticizes Nikola Jokic’s Leadership After Nuggets’ Loss To Knicks
The Denver Nuggets faced a tough loss at home against the New York Knicks on Monday. Following the game, NBA legend Kevin Garnett didn’t hold back in criticizing Nikola Jokic’s leadership during an episode of the Ticket & The Truth podcast. Garnett claimed that while Jokic and Jamal Murray are the team’s top players, neither has stepped up as a vocal leader.
“The two best players [Jokic and Murray] are not the vocal leaders. I see Joker saying A, B, and C, but I think he leads more in his play. Bro, when you are the best player, you are scoring, you are going to have to say something. Especially if you are not doing what I’m expecting you to do,” Garnett said.
