After the LA Clippers player debuted on ESPN’s pre-game program before Wednesday’s 2024 finals Game 3 between the Mavericks and Celtics, Evan Turner joined other NBA fans in making fun of Paul George. NBA Twitter mocked George for making a finals appearance as an analyst even though he hasn’t yet.
Turner, a former NBA player and assistant coach, replied to the post with three laughing emojis, unable to contain his amusement at the jab. Given their lack of hatred, Turner’s response was unexpected. That’s probably a friendly jibe, though, so not much has to be investigated.
A Fan page posted on X: “This is Paul George’s only finals appearance.”
Paul George has often been the target of trolling from the public, so Wednesday night’s jokes weren’t particularly original. Since coming to Los Angeles, the Clippers star has dealt with the most of it. He hasn’t been able to flourish in the postseason. With George playing with Kawhi Leonard in the conference finals, the Clippers have only one appearance (2021).
Paul George’s Quest for Team Success in Los Angeles May Be Coming to an End
Paul George is a gifted person. On the collective front, though, he has little to show for it. His time with the Clippers may end after another disastrous Los Angeles season. George has a $48.7 million player option for the next season, which he may reject to become an unrestricted free agent.
If the Clippers give him the maximum, he can make $221 million over four years; if he signs with another team, he can make $212 million. However, given his injuries and lackluster postseason performance, the Clippers could decide not to re-sign him for that amount.

Teams with cap room may become interested in Paul George. The All-Star forward is expected to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers next summer since they can give him the maximum salary available during free agency.
He will also have Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid on his side, making it his most incredible opportunity to win at a high level. If the Sixers sign George, their prospects of finally ending their conference finals curse increase because the Eastern Conference is far weaker than the West.
