After spending five seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers, nine-time NBA All-Star Paul George signed a four-year, $211 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers ahead of the 2024-25 season. Fans and NBA experts are disappointed with PG’s move; however, they also understand the commercial side of the deal.
Paul George’s new contract with the Philadelphia 76ers took his NBA career earnings to $519 million. On the other hand, his new teammate Joel Embiid signed a three-year, $193 million contract extension with the Sixers and entered the elite $500 million earning club.
Recently, former LA Clippers stars Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles, known for their popular podcast “Knuckleheads,” discussed Paul George’s trade to the Sixers.
In a recent interview with Tomer Azarly, Miles said, “Yeah, I saw PG the other night. I told him I’m sad, and just my feelings is just so hurt about that. But I understand it. It’s the game. You want your organization to respect you and value you the way you value yourself. I wish him much luck in Philly.”
Meanwhile, Richardson said, “I wish PG all the best. And we, as former players, absolutely know that this is a business, and like D. said, you gotta get what you think your value is, and ultimately is you just gotta live out the four years of that contract, so you gotta make the best move for you and your family.”
