The playoff series between the Dallas Mavericks and LA Clippers has been one of the most exciting ones, where both teams have the zeal to move to the second round. The Mavs took a 3-2 lead after their massive 123-93 win in Game 5. However, the LA head coach Tyronn Lue did not see the worst in the defeat and insisted on performing better in the next game.
Addressing their flaws in Wednesday’s game, Lue said, “We just didn’t play well all around. Offensively, defensively, we just didn’t play a good game. We know that.… That’s okay. Turn the page. They still gotta win four games.”
The HC acknowledged that the Mavs played well while the Clippers struggled on both ends, but he highlighted the possibility of a comeback in Game 6 as they did in 2021. “We understand how we need to play. We got into our stuff a little slow. We didn’t shoot the ball well; we didn’t play well either – it kind of goes hand in hand. We didn’t play the style of basketball we need,” the 46-year-old said.
The Clippers had a poor game at the Crypto.com Arena with a 30-point deficit. While many called out their All-Star guard James Harden for his disappointing performance, Ty Lue came in his defense.
Tyronn Lue Defends James Harden’s Shocking Game
James Harden was having a splendid post-season tournament with an average of 26 points per game until the last game when he finished with 7 points coupled with 4 rebounds and 7 assists. The former MVP could only manage to successfully convert 2 of his 12 shots from the floor and 1-of-7 from behind the 3-point range.
When Lue was asked about Harden’s poor day out, he stated, “He’s allowed to have a bad game. We didn’t shoot the ball well. They tried to get up and pressure a little bit, which we didn’t handle like we had in the first four games. He played bad. It’s possible. He didn’t play well.”

Lue has further shown confidence in Harden and feels that he needs to get the 34-year-old back on track in their next game, which will be an elimination game for the Clippers.
