After joining the Los Angeles Clippers with a hefty price tag in the 2019 off-season, Paul George recently left the Clippers for the Philadelphia 76ers. His new era is about to begin in Philadelphia, and Tyrese Maxey had high praise for George before this anticipated start.
Maxey highlighted George’s versatility on the court during his appearance on “Take Off with John Clark.”
“He’s that guy who you can pick up and plug into any system because of his talent. He’s 6’9. This guy can shoot the ball, rebound the ball, and pass the ball well. Play on the ball, play off the ball, play off hand-offs, and play off transitions. Like, you know, the sky is the limit,” Maxey said.
George joined the 76ers after declining his $48.8 million player option with the Clippers for the 2024–25 season. While his tenure with the Clippers will be remembered fondly, he ultimately fell short of fulfilling his cherished dream of moving to Los Angeles.

“Our future is bright in Indiana. I wouldn’t want to leave something great,” he said.
After his time with the Pacers, George joined the Oklahoma City Thunder. Once again, he assured fans and teammates of his dedication.
“I’m here to stay. We can bring [a championship] home,” he said.
Yet, his tenure with Oklahoma City was short-lived, as he moved on to the Clippers shortly after. During his Clippers career, George strongly committed to retiring as a Clippers star.
“I want to retire a clipper. I’m committed; I’m here. I want to be here,” he affirmed.
As George begins his latest venture with the Philadelphia 76ers, everyone will be watching closely to see if his commitment will lead to a long-term stay.
