Ja Morant, the star player of the Memphis Grizzlies, has been making frequent headlines due to his involvement in illegal activities, resulting in multiple suspensions from the NBA.
The first suspension occurred when Morant was suspended for eight games after he was found to have displayed a gun while partying at a club in Denver on March 4, 2023. Following the suspension, Morant spoke about the incident in an ESPN interview, stating, “After reflecting on the situation, I realize the need to be more responsible, make smarter decisions, and avoid getting involved in any further misconduct.”
The second time, Morant was suspended for 25 days for a similar incident, but on a different platform. During a live stream on Instagram, the 24-year-old Grizzlies player flashed a gun while chilling with his friends on May 13, 2024.
A fan poked fun at Ja Morant, comparing him to John Wick
Recently, Morant caused a stir with a new post on X (formerly known as Twitter). He wrote “Trigger” in his post.
Although it was a simple word with multiple meanings, due to the Grizzlies star’s history of legal issues, many people are interpreting the word as related to a gun trigger. NBA fans were shocked and had different reactions to the post. One fan wrote, “Bro about to get banned again.“ Another fan asked him to delete the post in order to avoid getting banned again.
Someone even joked about his post, saying, “Ja wick is back in full effect.”

This incident will mark the third time Morant has stirred controversy. It remains to be seen what the NBA will decide after this post. However, it is expected that nothing significant will result from just a post.
The Memphis Grizzlies had a disappointing season, finishing 13th in the Western Conference. Ja Morant played only nine games, averaging 25.1 points, 8.1 assists, and 5.6 rebounds. Recently, Morant praised Kyrie Irving, the guard for the Dallas Mavericks, for his amazing performance throughout the series. Morant posted a blue heart with the message “happy for this guy” on social media.
