The Milwaukee Bucks are off to a tough start this season, sitting at 2-8, with even star player Giannis Antetokounmpo unable to turn things around. This rough patch has led to growing speculation about Giannis’ future with the team, sparking trade rumors around the two-time MVP.
Paul Pierce recently suggested that the Oklahoma City Thunder could be the perfect fit for Giannis, but the Brooklyn Nets have been heavily linked to the star forward in recent days. Sports analyst Bill Simmons weighed in on the trade chatter during a recent podcast on The Ringer. Simmons also sees the Brooklyn Nets as a realistic option for the Bucks star.
“I think the Giannis trade stuff is really going to have people start making up fake trades. And the Nets are pretty good; I think they can go all in for Giannis. They have a ton of picks. They have Cam Thomas, Cam Johnson, Nic Claxton, and Dennis Schroder, who is playing really well,” Simmons said.
“People are going to ask what team makes sense for Giannis, and I actually think it’s Brooklyn. They can just overwhelm Milwaukee with all these picks. I think it makes sense. Milwaukee needs to get out of this, and to me, it’s either Brooklyn or Houston,” he added.
Bill Simmons’ Trade Idea For Giannis Antetokounmpo Sparks Backlash From NBA Fans
The trade speculation surrounding Antetokounmpo and the Brooklyn Nets has become a hot topic in the NBA world. However, not everyone is on board with the idea of Bill Simmons.
Many NBA fans took to social media to express their frustration with Simmons’ suggestion. The criticism stems from the belief that Giannis, as one of the league’s top talents, needs to be surrounded by a well-rounded, championship-caliber team in order to win an NBA title.

The Nets, currently sitting at 5-6, may not be the ideal environment for Giannis to achieve the success he desires. One of the key concerns from fans is the lack of stability and consistent performance in Brooklyn this season. Hence, some fans even claimed that Simmons doesn’t want Giannis ending up a good team.
How the Bucks react to the ongoing trade rumors of Antetokounmpo following this season will remain to be seen.
