We will start things out by saying that thankfully no one was injured. Because based on the 9-1-1 call from Vince Carter’s wife that was just released, this was a terrifying scene that could have ended much worse than it did.
Earlier today, it was reported that Vince Carter’s home in Atlanta was broken into while his wife and kids were still home. Sondi Carter and her sons were hiding in the closet while the burglars went searching for valuables through the house.
Police eventually arrived on the scene and one officer reportedly saw an unidentified black male wearing all black jump into an SUV which fled the scene. No arrests have been made.
It was also reported that officers found two guns outside Carter’s home—a golden Desert Eagle in a gun case that belonged to Carter, and a black Glock 26 with an extended magazine that they believe belonged to the suspect.
That makes the next part even more scary, as audio of the 9-1-1 call that Sondi Carter made from the closet with her sons has now been released (via TMZ).
In it, Sondi is understandably panicking. However, she does maintain her composure for long enough to remain undetected, while also keeping her boys at ease.

The break-in occurred on June 19 at roughly 11:50pm. Carter claims the burglars took a bag containing $100,000 in cash—with roughly $16,000 of that found scattered outside his front door, presumably dropped by the intruders while they were trying to flee the scene.
