Jimmy Butler is entering what could be his final season with the Miami Heat. The two sides were unable to agree on an extension this offseason. He could enter free agency if Butler declines his $52.4 million player option in 2025.
ESPN analyst Tim MacMahon recently highlighted Butler as a player to watch in the trade market. NBA insider Marc Stein also suggested that if Miami were to consider trading Butler, one team to watch would be the Houston Rockets, who closely follow the situation.
“The Rockets are also increasingly mentioned by monitoring rivals as a team to watch should Miami ever reach a point that it chooses to explore its trade options with Jimmy Butler, who grew up some 30 miles away from Houston in Tomball, Texas,” Stein reported.
Bam Adebayo Calls for Aggression as Jimmy Butler Lifts Heat to First Win
After two games into the regular season, the Miami Heat have started 1-1. They lost a tough game to the Orlando Magic in their season opener, and Jimmy Butler also struggled to find his rhythm.
However, Butler made a strong comeback in Saturday’s 114-106 win over the Charlotte Hornets. Butler’s performance came after his teammate Bam Adebayo urged the need for their two-man connection to fuel the team’s success.
“I feel like that’s where me and Jimmy, you know, got to come together and figure out how we can be aggressive in the new offense,” Adebayo said.
