Joel Embiid is not having a great outing this season. After struggling with injuries, the Philadelphia 76ers star was yet again ruled out for injury. Back on January 17, 2025, Embiid was sidelined and is expected to come back not before a week. This makes him unavailable to appear for the January 21 game against the Denver Nuggets. And there’s a fascinating piece of stat that will surely blow your mind.
This will be the fifth consecutive season that Embiid will not face off against the Nuggets. He last appeared in a game against Denver on November 8, 2019! That means that Embiid has not played against the team for 1898 days. Missing the recent game, too, would mean the 76ers star will be out of action for 2000 days!

According to the reports, Embiid will be nursing a flared-up left knee. However, there have been accusations that Embiid has been ducking Nikola Jokic all along. In fact, Nuggets head coach Michael Malone, too, asked the NBA to launch an investigation. However, nothing concrete about the rumors has been proven yet. Meanwhile, going strong on his on-court game, Embiid garnered an interesting response from Dwight Howard.
Dwight Howard Has A Hilarious Take On Joel Embiid’s Flopping Skills
Joel Embiid’s flopping skills have made him one of the hardest players to guard in the NBA. With the defenders running out of ideas to contain Embiid, Dwight Howard recently came up with a plan. Howard laid down a hilarious strategy for the 76ers’ star.
“He is probably, I think, the toughest to guard because he knows how to flop. He knows how to use his size and his strength when he has to.” Howard further added, “He can shoot real well. If I was checking him, I would have to beat him up and down the court, not let him get easy points, don’t go for no pump fakes,” Howard stated.
