The Phoenix Suns vs. Dallas Mavericks game became a free-for-all fight. After getting an offensive foul, Jusuf Nurkic charged towards a fallen Daniel Gafford. Nurkic then swatted aggressively on Naji Marshall’s head that resulted in the situation escalating rapidly. In a fit of anger, Marshall threw a wild punch at the Suns’ star. Luckily, the punch missed Nurkic by a whisker, avoiding any fatal injuries.
Meanwhile, as the physical altercation was going on, Suns rookie Ryan Dunn was pretty much amazed. However, instead of engaging in the heated exchange, Dunn was seen trying to de-escalate the same. On being asked about his reason for doing so, Dunn came up with an interesting answer. “I turned my head, turned back, and Nurkic was going forward… I’m a rookie. I don’t have enough money to be getting fined $5000. I can’t throw a punch, but just trying to deescalate it,” said Dunn.
Ryan Dunn was asked if he thought about helping Jusuf Nurkic in fight with Naji Marshall:

Now, while Dunn might have refrained from getting involved, P.J. Washington did not back up. Shoving Nurkic to the ground, all three players got ejected. Meanwhile, Kyrie Irving had a hilarious reaction to the entire drama.
Kyrie Irving Sarcastic About More Such Fights Taking Place
After the game, Kyrie Irving brought out his witty self. Speaking about the incident, Irving mentioned sarcastically that he wanted to bear the fines for all three accused athletes. According to him, such incidents might help to get the NBA ratings to soar. “Maybe that’s just the way we end 2024, where somebody actually swings in the NBA. Maybe that will help our ratings,” Irving said via Duane Rankin.
"Throw that shit under the rug. Excuse my language."

Now, the Mavericks’ star might be joking. However, as a matter of fact, the NBA ratings have been going down significantly. In a recent setback, the NFL reigned supreme over the NBA on Christmas Day with just two games to their schedule. Thus, with things looking a little gloomy, it remains to be seen what happens next.
