Steve Kerr is widely recognized today as the head coach of both the Golden State Warriors and Team USA. Before stepping into coaching, Steve Kerr had a highly successful playing career. He is most notably remembered for his time with the Chicago Bulls. During that period, he played alongside the legendary Michael Jordan.
Despite the success that came with being Jordan’s teammate, Kerr has acknowledged that it wasn’t always easy. During a recent episode on the podcast “All The Smoke,” the former player shared his challenges while playing with Jordan.
“Being his teammate was hard. He was really tough on everybody because his whole philosophy was he had to toughen us up to get us ready for the playoffs and the finals, and so he came after us, and you had to stand up to him,” Kerr said.
“You had to sort of survive the MJ test, and the guys who survived it, he had immense respect for him, and so people know about the fight I got into him, that we got into together, and that was just about him kind of testing me, and probably the best thing I ever did,” he added.
