In the wake of the horrific death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, former NBA player Stephen Jackson informed the world that he was good friends with Floyd, whom he grew up with in Houston.
“Nobody was more proud of my growth and my fatherhood more than #BigFloydDaGod. We will get justice. They will be writing a big check for your kids on behalf of Minnesota Police Dept. and u can bet dat Jack. Rest Easy Twin,” Jackson wrote on Instagram as a tribute to Floyd.
Amid the tragedy and outrage, Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. upset a bunch of people with a tweet offering support for the police officers. “As much as you pray for George family, gotta also pray for the police officer(s) who were involved in this evil. As hard as it is, pray for them instead of hate them…Pray that God changes their hearts,” Porter Jr. wrote.
Among the many people to blast him was Jackson who fired back by saying, “Man go sit yo young Privileged ass down. Either u with us or against us. @MPJr not now bruh f** dat. Rest Easy Twin I don’t have a prob with u Youngin ain’t no time for that. Easy to say that nobody dying close to u. Pick a side.”
