The Steph Curry-Kevin Durant Warriors were a force of nature the likes of which the NBA had never seen. We knew the Warriors would be in the NBA Finals, it was just a matter of when and how many games it would take for them to get there.
The Warriors’ run of dominance caused the talking heads and fans to debate whether the 2016-17 Warriors would be able to beat the famed 1996 Chicago Bulls who were led by Michael Jordan. When it comes to Curry, there’s no doubt who would come out on top.
In a video that was featured this week for GQ Sports, the Golden State Warriors superstar responded to questions that fans had for him. One question that Curry received was, “Fully healthy, do you believe the Warriors with KD [Kevin Durant] could have beat the ’96 Bulls in a seven-game Finals?”
“Absolutely,” Curry boldly stated. “Obviously, we’ll never know, but you put us on paper with them … I like our chances. I’d say Dubs in 6 too.”
Those Bulls finished the 95-96 season at 72-10, a record that stood until the 2015-16 Warriors went 73-9, but as you know, that team would blow a 3-1 series lead to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals.
That offseason, Kevin Durant left the OKC Thunder and joined the Warriors, which was the same team that eliminated him just the month before after they blew a 3-1 lead as well.

Golden State went 67-15 in the regular season and 16-1 in the playoffs, and that team easily handled James and the Cavs.
