Stephen A. Smith did not learn his lesson from earlier this year. Back in April, Smith cited reports as saying that things with James Harden and the Nets reached a breaking point when Kyrie Irving called him washed up. That report actually came from the parody account Ballsack Sports, and Smith had already incorrectly cited the same “report” in early March.
I guess a third time’s a charm because he did it once again in November. Smith cited that same report for the third time while saying, “We don’t know how much truth there is to that” but tstill cited it anyway for millions of people watching at home.
During the second time he got fooled, Kevin Durant rpasted him for it, saying, “Damn steve,” Durant responded to a clip of the ESPN host falling for the fake report. “Got ya ass.”
There is just something about that fake report that Smith really wants to believe is true just so he can push whatever narrative he wants to fans. In the end, he got SACKED!
The person that owns that account, a 24-year-old from Ohio named Matt who has not publicized his last name, told Awful Announcing in February that “I wanted to start Ballsack Sports because I wanted to rile up as many people as possible under the most obscenely obvious satirical name. I thought I could do it. And so, I just kind of started making satirical quotes.”

“I want to be very transparent that we are not legitimate,” he said. “I don’t know if that isn’t clear.”
