NBA fans are ripping ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith following the controversial analyst shockingly leaving a current star off a list of players he thinks are deserving of a supermax deal.
Smith drew up his “Stephen’s A-List” of supermax players during First Take this Wednesday, naming Steph Curry, LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Jayson Tatum. He curiously left Nikola Jokic out, so fans had a right go at him on Twitter, as you could see below:

Jokic just led the Denver Nuggets to the NBA finals, having averaged 29.9 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 10.3 assists in the playoffs. That’s right, the guy is averaging a triple-double in the postseason.
He’s also a two-time MVP who was in the conversation for a third consecutive award this season, yet Smith doesn’t seem to think he’s a supermax player.
The Joker, as he’s known, is widely considered to be the best player in the NBA right now, so we can’t blame fans for slamming Stephen A. That he’s left him off such a list is confounding.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets found out who their NBA Finals opponents will be on Monday night, as the Miami Heat beat the Boston Celtics in seven games to make their second trip to the league’s championship decider since 2020.
Jokic’s team heads into the series very well-rested as they put the Los Angeles Lakers away in four games.
