Stephen A. Smith could not believe what he saw in James Harden on Thursday night.
Harden, who played 42 minutes for the 76ers in Game 6, had just 11 points and four turnovers.
That was a performance that had Stephen A. Smith speechless…not really. He had a ton to say. In fact, Smith thinks Harden’s performance in the second half was so “anemic” that an investigation needs to be launched by the NBA.
“That performance by James Harden requires an investigation. How in God’s name you go 22 minutes in the second half and attempt one shot. It was a horrific performance. Anemic and impotent performance by James Harden,” Smith said. “And I’m really interested in seeing what the Philadelphia 76ers are going to do with Doc Rivers because I smell something and it don’t smell right at all.”
The Philadelphia 76ers’ playoff run came to an end as they lost to the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Harden only shooting the ball twice in the second half did not help matters at all.

During his postgame press conference, Harden made it seem like he’ll be in Philadelphia for at least the 2022-23 season.
“I’ll be here,” Harden told reporters. “Whatever allows this team to continue to grow, get better and do the things necessary to compete at the highest level.”
