The New York Knicks fans have got a big shock just at the start of April. Their All-Star forward Julius Randle will be out for the rest of the season and this news not only disheartened the Knicks fans but Stephen A. Smith as well.
The popular NBA analyst broke down on live television after he learned of the news. He was devastated upon knowing the announcement made by the Knicks and was quick to recall the good start the Knicks had at the beginning of the season.
Julius Randle is out for the rest of the season
The New York Knicks recently announced that their three-time All-Star forward Julius Randle would be out for the remainder of the season. He will be undergoing surgery on his shoulder which he injured earlier this season. The Knicks were in great form before Randle’s injury, they displayed great potential of even making it to the conference finals.
However, in the match against the Miami Heat, Randle dislocated his non-shooting shoulder and was ruled out from future games. The fans hoped that Julius would return before the playoffs began but luck was not on their side. Randle was not cleared and his issues grew more. He now will be undergoing surgery and will be evaluated in five months.

“(The Knicks record was) 24-9 (with) 47 percent shooting, OG Anunoby arrived and they got the best record in January… They had a chance to reach the conference finals against Boston and then this happens,” said Smith. He referred to the happier times at the start of the season and then explained the chances of the Knicks making it to the conference finals with Randle. However, he was in a spoiled mood after learning the news and dismissed the topic soon.
