Earlier this season, Stephen Curry damn near shut the internet down when he stated the Moon landing never happened. It caused an uproar which prompted NASA to immediately offer him an informational tour of the Johnson Space Center during his next visit to Houston.
“One thousand percent,” Curry told ESPN’s Nick Friedell of accepting the invite. “One thousand percent. Obviously, I was joking when I was talking on the podcast.”
While the Golden State Warriors won’t visit Texas until March, Curry has decided to send them a nod of approval by dawning some customized “moon landing” kicks when he faces off against the Houston Rockets on Thursday Night at Oracle.
Afterward, he’ll sign the shoes and auction them off on eBay and the autographed kicks will benefit local STEM education programs in the Bay Area, fueling young students with more knowledge about science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
