Jonathan Isaac was the only player who chose to stand for the national anthem and did not wear a Black Lives Matter shirt ahead of the team’s matchup with the Brooklyn Nets Friday.
It was is the Magic’s first game of the NBA restart at ESPN Wide World of Sports. Before tipoff and the anthem, a video documenting the NBA’s commitment to fighting social injustice and racism was played.
All players, coaches, and refs except Isaac then locked arms and took a knee for the anthem. The Orlando Magic star stood while wearing his No. 1 Magic jersey with his hands locked behind his back.
