The first round of the 2024 NBA Draft was completed on Wednesday. NBA teams have selected some fantastic young players for their teams. However, there are a few notable players left in the first round, including Bronny James, the USC Trojans guard.
However, on Thursday, the Los Angeles Lakers selected Bronny with the 55th pick during the second round of the NBA Draft. All the rumors surrounding Bronny have been cleared, and the 19-year-old guard will play alongside his father, LeBron James, in the next season for the Lakers.
Several NBA analysts and fans have criticized the Lakers’ decision to add Bronny to their roster. However, others continue to support the younger James. During a recent episode of the ESPN Draft Order, NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski expressed that he does not want NBA fans to refer to Bronny James’s going to the Lakers as ‘nepotism.’
“I don’t want to hear these charges—people talking about nepotism. The NBA is full of nepotism: the ownership level, front offices, coaching. I don’t want to hear it all of a sudden because Bronny James’ father plays for the Lakers. It is rampant in this league.” Wojnarowski said.

Another fan expressed support for Bronny and stated, “Nepotism is everywhere in the NBA, but you only cry when it’s LeBron.”
Another fan disagrees with Wojnarowski’s remark and said, “On the individual player level, there’s never been a bigger example of nepotism. Ever. Adrian is carrying the water for Lebron.”
A fan hilariously explained, “It quite literally is tho lmao if Bron wasn’t his dad he’d have stayed in college or played overseas.”
Despite the criticism, LeBron James supported his son and shared an emotional post with a heartfelt message on his Instagram account.
