The excitement around the release of the NBA 2K25 player ratings for the incoming 2024-25 rookie garnered attention. On Friday, the ratings were announced, and the top two picks of the 2024 NBA Draft quickly made their mark. Zaccharie Risacher of the Atlanta Hawks took the top spot with an impressive 75 rating, closely followed by Alex Sarr of the Washington Wizards, who also earned a 75 rating.
Other notable rookies, such as Stephon Castle, Reed Sheppard, and Donovan Clingan, received the second-highest ratings, each standing at 73 overall. However, the spotlight quickly shifted to the Los Angeles Lakers’ No. 55 overall pick, Bronny James.
Bronny received a 68 rating, which matched his second-round peers. Given his underwhelming performance in the Summer League, this rating drew significant attention and sparked debate on social media. Bronny averaged 5.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 steals in five games.
Fans didn’t hold back in questioning the legitimacy of Bronny’s rating, given his performance. Many took to social media to express their doubts, pointing to his Summer League stats as a reason for their skepticism.
Bronny wasn’t the only rookie under fire. Alex Sarr also faced a pile of criticism from the fans on social media. Some fans went as far as to label this rookie class as one of the worst ever.

Wizards Coach Expresses Confidence in Alex Sarr Despite Summer League Struggles
The Washington Wizards had high hopes for Alex Sarr when they brought him on board, but his performance in the Summer League fell short of expectations. Despite the rocky start, the organization and head coach Brian Keefe remain confident in Sarr’s potential to develop into a key player for the team.
In an interview with Chase Hughes of Monumental Sports, Coach Keefe shared his optimism about Sarr’s future. He shared Sarr’s strong understanding of the game, which sets him apart as a young player.
“He’s got the ability to be a three-level scorer at some point. But one thing that has stood out to us is his ability to see the game and read the game. He’s a good passer, so we want the ball in his hands to explore those opportunities for him to make plays for himself and others,” Keefe said.
Sarr averaged just 5.5 points per game in the Summer League. He took 15 shots in a summer league game and missed them all.
