The NBA is full of talents, and so is LiAngelo Ball. Coming out of a basketball family, he has got singing genes, too. The shooting guard took center stage at Ford Field during the Detroit Lions’ playoff game against the Washington Commanders to electrify fans with a live performance of his debut rap single, ‘Tweaker.’
After years of being overshadowed by his brothers, LaMelo and Lonzo, LiAngelo is carving out his own path in the spotlight. Released just this month, his song debuted at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 and secured him a lucrative record deal.
As the Lions fans settled into their seats, the energy in the stadium reached a fever pitch when LiAngelo hit the stage. His infectious track had the crowd buzzing, setting the stage for an equally exhilarating second quarter. The game delivered pure spectacle, with both teams combining for a whopping 42 points in just 15 minutes. While the Commanders held the lead at halftime, LiAngelo’s performance fueled a vibrant atmosphere that truly stole the show.

However, it seems like Ball has got his real calling. His music debut led to a significant milestone in his career. LiAngelo got a record deal with Def Jam Recordings and its parent company, Universal Music Group. Reports suggest the deal could be worth up to $13 million, allowing Ball to maintain ownership of his music and his label, the family-run Born to Ball Music Group.
Although, while the song has got good streaming numbers, social media fans seem to pick opposite sides in the debate.

Internet Reacts To LiAngelo Ball’s ‘Tweaker’ Performance At The Lions-Commanders Game
Having played basketball at Chino Hills High School and briefly at UCLA before his career took a detour, Ball is now poised to carve out a new identity as an artist. He also has a stage name, G3 Gelo. While he had previously been known primarily for a cameo on his brother Lonzo’s track, ‘BITF,’ ‘Tweaker’ marks his first major step into the music industry.
As the video from his performance aired, social media fans started reacting to his song. “Yall gassed this shit just because it sounds like the 2000 era of music. I never thought the song was fire I just thought it was catchy,” a fan wrote.

It remains to be seen how Ball would grow out as a rapper. While he definitely has the rapper’s vibe, the basketball community expects more viral songs from him.
