On Saturday night, the NBA community was taken by surprise with one of the most unexpected trades in league history. The Dallas Mavericks traded their superstar, Luka Doncic, along with Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris to the Los Angeles Lakers. In return, the Mavericks received Max Christie, Anthony Davis, and a first-round pick for the 2029 draft.
This trade marked the first time that two reigning All-NBA players were exchanged for each other midseason. Previously, Doncic arrived in Los Angeles, where he greeted fans at the airport and took photos with Rob Pelinka. Recently, he was spotted wearing a black hoodie featuring the Lakers logo prominently on it.

When Legion Hoops posted the photo on X (formerly Twitter), NBA fans flooded the comment section with their opinions. Several Mavericks fans noted how quickly Doncic transitioned from the Mavericks to the Lakers following the trade. Meanwhile, many Lakers fans praised Doncic for wearing Lakers gear for the first time.

Anthony Edwards Shares Concerns For Luka Doncic Post-Trade
The Doncic-Davis trade really shook up the NBA world. Players, analysts, and fans alike have been weighing in on this blockbuster deal. After the Timberwolves’ narrow 114-116 loss to the Sacramento Kings, Anthony Edwards mentioned that he feels bad for Doncic.
“They say that nobody knew about the trade. That’s crazy. At 25 [years old], they traded probably the best scorer in the NBA. And he didn’t know about it. There’s a lot more digging somebody’s gotta do to find out why he got traded. Because you don’t just trade him at 25. He just went to the Finals. I feel bad for Luka, man.” Edwards said.
