Monday night’s 76ers-Knicks playoff game had a pretty wild ending.
The Sixers have announced plans to file a complaint with the NBA following a 104-101 loss that leaves them down 2-0 in the series.
Videos have popped up online suggesting the refs may have purposely influenced the game’s results. Head coach Nick Nurse was ignored entirely while trying to call a late timeout, and a clear foul on Tyrese Maxey by Jalen Brunson went unpunished.
The Knicks took over possession down 101-99 after said foul, and Donte DiVincenzo hit a huge go-ahead three-pointer that led to a critical Knicks win on the back of the no-call.
Philadelphia center Joel Embiid was incensed after the loss.
“Unacceptable,” the Cameroonian told reporters. “Tyrese got fouled a couple of times. We just had the same thing happen against Miami with Tyler Herro. That’s just unacceptable to put us in that situation. That’s F- ing unacceptable to lose a game like this, especially in the playoffs.”

Fouls Could Have Gone Either Way During The 76ers-Knicks Showdown
If we’re being fair, Maxey could have been called for a foul for pushing Josh Hart. He was clearly fouled by Brunson, who grabbed his jersey while he was running the other way.
Another video shows that Nurse didn’t actually call the timeout and pulled his hands back apart. He did call it eventually; however, the 76ers didn’t have possession then.
The Sixers will feel hard-done-by after the marginal loss, and it will be interesting to see what the NBA has to say about this.
The two teams will lock horns again on Thursday; Philly will hope to get back in the series with a win on their home floor.
