Paul George joined the Philadelphia 76ers during the offseason, following an impressive five-season tenure with the Los Angeles Clippers. Interestingly, his exit led to a notable conflict with former teammate Norman Powell.
During a previous interview, Powell stated, “No matter what PG says, the Clippers’ wall is amazing.” Recently, he again took shots at George by claiming that no one has an ego on this year’s Clippers team.
“I think this year we have guys who are really team-oriented and team-focused on both sides of the ball who are willing to learn, grow, and have the mentality of doing whatever it takes to win. Paul George Sees No Disrespect In Norman Powell’s Comments
Although George has joined the roster, the 76ers are facing challenges due to the absence of their star player, Joel Embiid, who is currently dealing with a knee injury. Embiid has been out for the last six games, leading to growing concerns among fans regarding the timeline for his return to action.
Despite enduring various critiques from Powell, George maintained his composure. When asked about Powell’s contentious remarks on the Prizepicks podcast, George said he didn’t perceive his comments as diss.
“I didn’t take it as salty or negative. It’s the honest truth. Me being gone gives him opportunities. He’s balling his ass off. He looks great. He’s super efficient. They need him to do what he’s doing right now or they don’t have a chance.” George said.
