Patrick Beverley, who signed with Hapoel Tel Aviv of the Israeli Basketball Premier League in July 2024, spent the first five years of his professional career overseas, playing in Ukraine, Greece, and Russia. The 36-year-old point guard later joined the Houston Rockets in the NBA in 2013.
Throughout his professional career in the NBA, Beverley played for multiple teams. Despite this, he still has doubts about the potential of NBA teams compared to teams in other leagues. During a recent episode of the Pat Bev podcast, Beverley explained the key differences between the NBA and the Greek league.
“It would be tough for an NBA team to win there. I am not saying it would not happen. It would be tough, that is all. Like almost 50,000 people against you. Like any mistake is magnified. Any missed shot is magnified. Any big shot is like a dagger. It would be hard.” Beverley claimed.
Beverley’s statement sparked a debate among NBA fans, who began expressing their thoughts in the comment section.
One fan said, “Acting like Team USA didn’t steam roll teams in the Olympics. They be just fine in Greece, Pat Bev just s*cks”
