The Los Angeles Clippers looked dead in the water in the first round when the Dallas Mavs took a 2-0 series lead, but they battles back to win in seven games.
Now, they find themselves in the same situation in an 0-2 hole to the Utah Jazz and a trip to the Western Conference Finals on the line.
Speaking on ESPN’s First Take Friday, Stephen A. Smith said the organization should let Kawhi walk if they end up falling to the Jazz.
“If Donavon Mitchell takes your Clippers out, guess what? Let Kawhi go. Let him walk. Let him exercise his option and go elsewhere,” Smith said. “With LeBron James home … this is arguably the Clippers best chance to win the chip.”
Averaging 41.0 points over the first two games of the series, Donovan Mitchell has absolutely dominated the Clippers and things are not looking good for them as the series shifts to Los Angeles.
Even still, social media blasted Smith for thinking Kawhi is the problem on the Clippers.
