One of the many personal problems that NBA veteran Dennis Rodman has faced is his distance from his daughter, USWNT champion Trinity Rodman. Washington Spirit forward called out her absentee father on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast earlier this week. She accused him of only attending for publicity purposes; the situation reached a crescendo.
Five-time NBA champion Rodman answered with a long and heartfelt Instagram post, stating unequivocally that he wants to be in a relationship with his child.
Dennis Rodman wrote, “Sorry I wasn’t the Dad you wanted me to be but either way I still tried and I still Try and Never will Stop. I will keep Trying even when you’re being told as an adult not to respond to my phone calls. I will try even when it’s difficult and it takes a long time. I’m always here And tell you all the time rather it’s your voice or voicemail how proud I am. I always had one wish and it was I wish my kinds would call me and come see me. Hopefully one day I can get that. I’m here and I’m still trying pick up the phone you have my number, You see me calling, I’m still here…”
Despite her father’s public apologies, Trinity is not buying it. Rodman described the apology as “a joke” and a publicity stunt on her Instagram Story. She said she would use it to wipe her hands and go on.
“A joke. The response alone. And the attention. Wiping my hands with it I’m done. Thank you,” Trinity wrote in her Instagram story.

Dennis Rodman And His Daughter Has A Complicated History
Dennis, a former NBA player, went on to say that he sees Trinity play soccer “all the time” and that he even traveled to watch a match but was advised not to come because of who he was with. Instead, he watched from his hotel balcony.
According to SpotRac, her father allegedly made over $27 million during his NBA career, but Trinity clarified that she had once been compelled to live in a vehicle. In 2021, she became the youngest player ever recruited into the NWSL. The Washington Spirit selected her at the age of 18. Dennis had not talked to his daughter in a long time when he unexpectedly showed up for the Spirit’s playoff quarterfinal game.
In the 1990s, Dennis Rodman led the NBA in rebounds per game for seven consecutive years and won five NBA titles. However, personal problems have tainted his post-retirement life and profession. At the club and national levels, Trinity Rodman has established a remarkable soccer career.
