The Los Angeles Clippers are preparing to open their brand-new arena, the “Intuit Dome,” after spending 25 years as the third tenant in downtown LA. This state-of-the-art venue marks a new chapter for the Clippers with the coolest never-seen-before feature.
However, the Clippers’ move to the new arena hasn’t escaped some playful jabs, particularly regarding their status as Los Angeles’s secondary basketball franchise. On the “All the Smoke” podcast hosted by Matt Barnes, rapper Snoop Dogg took the opportunity to poke fun at the Clippers when Barnes mentioned a section in the Intuit Dome dedicated solely to Clippers fans.
“You saw that section where you can only be a Clippers fan? It’s a whole wall where you have to be a Clippers fan to sit in that b*tch,” Barness said.
Dogg is popular for his devotion to the Los Angeles Lakers. Hence, he didn’t miss a beat and highlighted the ongoing rivalry between the Clippers and the Lakers, as many still view the Clippers as LA’s “other” team.
“Well, it’s gonna be kind of empty in that m*r then!” Dogg said.
Interestingly, tech billionaire and former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmercost founded the Intuit Dome. It cost an estimated $2 billion to build in Inglewood, a suburb of Los Angeles.
