FOX Sports analyst Skip Bayless claims that he’s received threats from former NBA star and Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley.
On a recent edition of “The Skip Bayless Show” (h/t Awful Announcing), Bayless claimed that he has received death threats from “Sir Charles.”
“Charles has been taking shots at me for, I don’t know, 20 years? On various platforms including his own on TNT’s Inside the NBA. But at least this time, for the first time ever, Charles didn’t go ‘k-word’ on me. This time, for the first time ever, he did not say that he would like to ‘kill me,’ as he so often has.”
Bayless went on to admit that he likes Barkley’s work on TV while also explaining why he envies the former NBA MVP winner:
“And I must admit, I do love Charles on TV. I’m a big fan of Charles Barkley the commentator on Inside the NBA. But Charles, as you know, has come to the point, he can get away with saying just about anything that pops into his head and out of his mouth. That’s just Charles being Charles…I envy that…
I can say the smallest thing, the most innocent thing, I can tweet it or say it on Undisputed, something that is completely in bounds, completely OK, and all of a sudden one person on Twitter says, ‘can you believe Skip Bayless said that?’…All of a sudden, once again, I’m being CANCELED by that internet lynch mob…that’s my life and I’m happy to live my life, but I do envy Charles’ life.”
Bayless’ outspoken personality and willingness to express highly controversial and debatable opinions have made him one of the more polarizing figures in the sports media world. Plenty of athletes (current and former) like Richard Sherman, Dez Bryant and Michael Strahan have been vocal about their criticism towards Bayless.

Barkley has become widely popular across the sports journalism world because of his humor and outgoing personality. The man’s golf swing alone is always a great talking point for sports fans and athletes, after all.
Bayless used to work at FOX with Stephen A. Smith before moving over to the rival FOX Sports company. Bayless now co-hosts “Undisputed” with Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe.
