Former NBA player Gilbert Arenas has a lot of stories to tell about his on-court life. However, his off-court stories are even more enjoyable. He recently revealed how he once gifted his ex-girlfriend, Laura Govan, a fake diamond ring.
The former Washington Wizards star revealed how he proposed to Laura with a real diamond ring worth $400,000. However, later on, the couple got into a big fight that led to their temporary breakup. Arenas shared that he wanted to get the expensive ring back and devised a plan.
He revealed that he got back with Govan, and it took him a few years to switch the real ring out with a fake one. Arenas revealed that he always had the opportunity to switch out the ring, but instead, he waited for the perfect opportunity to do so. The couple broke up once again in 2014 and battled each other for custody of their children.

Gilbert Arenas revealed that after the custody of his children was assigned, he was hit with another case concerning the diamond ring. Govan had accused Arenas of robbing her and filed a lawsuit against him to get the item back. “From there, a filing came in that said I robbed her. Then she filed a lawsuit to get the ring back,” said Gilbert.
The former NBA player revealed that he sold off the diamond ring to pay the fees for the case concerning the ring. This was a big slap in the face of Arena’s ex-girlfriend, but the former athlete doesn’t regret it a bit.

Gilbert Arenas had his child support lowered from $44K to $7K
Govan and Gilbert Arenas had four children together, and after the couple separated in 2014, the court ordered the former NBA star to pay $20,000 in child support. However, Arenas himself increased the amount to $35,000, and later on, it was increased to $44,000, given that he was also paying for their school expenses.
As per Arenas, Govan wanted to take advantage of the fact that he could pay more money. However, the judge handling their case had different plans and reduced $7,000. It was a great showing for the judge, who did not sway away and maintained his just stand on the matter.
