Dennis Schroder had to wait awhile, but he finally found his new team when he signed a one-year deal with the Boston Celtics worth only $5.9 million. That’s a major downgrade from the $84 million contract that the Los Angeles Lakers offered him.
Schroder’s decision to wait until free agency to sign a contract was one of the worst in history and it has been the talk of the offseason.
Teams around the NBA did not put much value in him after his terrible playoff performance in the first round series against the Phoenix Suns. The whole Schroder disaster elicited responses from many around the league, including Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal.
Shaq posted a photo of the guard’s contract details on Instagram with the caption: “Things that make you go hmmmmmm #whatthehellareyouthinking.”
“He wasn’t thinking and that’s the problem!!!, Kendrick Perkins said in the comments.”

“He need a math teacher that shit don’t add up. Best of luck. Dennis,” Snoop Dogg added.
Schroder is now making less than players that aren’t even close to his level. Scoring zero points in a playoff game did not help his cause or convince a team that should shell out $100 million to him.
