As he made his NBA playoff prediction, Barkley delivered another of his well-known promises. When Barkley pressed his “guarantee” button, a massive downpour of ping-pong balls was released onto his head as a joke. Barkley was not amused.
“I hate ya’ll man. Ya’ll got some balls in my Diet Coke.” Brakley said. In response, Shaq replied, “You know you like balls on your head.”
Shaquille O’Neal was urged to settle down by “Inside the NBA” anchor Ernie Johnson. Barkley shot back at Kenny Smith’s comment with a dejected glance.
One of the show’s regular gags was the falling ping-pong balls. To Barkley’s dismay, the studio again surprised him by pulling out the practical joke. During the remainder of the playoffs, he could be slightly more cautious while making one of his promises.

The supporting cast for James and Davis was insufficient for the Lakers. D’Angelo Russell suffered more than most. He finished with 13 points on 6 of his 20 field goal attempts.
