After a nine-game absence due to injury, Joel Embiid finally returned to the court on Wednesday night. The Philadelphia 76ers faced off against the New York Knicks, hoping Embiid’s presence would spark a turnaround in their struggling season. However, despite Embiid’s return, the 76ers fell to the Knicks 99-111 while sinking their record to 2-8.
After calling him soft for his take on back-to-back games, former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal wasn’t impressed with Ehmid’s first game of this season. Shaq shared his concerns about Ehmid’s approach to the game. He even criticized the former MVP for his attitude toward the game and his self-imposed limitations.
“This was the fear I have for Joel Embiid; you announce arrogantly, ‘I’m not playing back to backs. I’m not injured, but I am sore. I’ll come in when I want to come in,'” Shaq said.
“I’ll say this respectfully: Joel Embiid will never win a championship until he gets his mind and his attitude right,” he added.
Jared McCain Reflects On Playing With Joel Embiid After The 76ers’ Loss To The Knicks
After the Philadelphia 76ers’ tough loss to the New York Knicks, rookie Jared McCain shared his thoughts on playing alongside Joel Embiid during a press conference. Despite the team’s struggles, McCain seemed impressed by Embiid’s presence on the court and the ease of playing with him.
“It’s pretty easy playing with him. You come off the screen, and you’re wide open. You get him the ball, and they double, and you’re wide open. It’s pretty simple,” McCain said.
