Shaquille O’Neal is a betting man. And it appears his wagers aren’t restricted to sports.
The four-time NBA champion recently revealed he used to bet thousands of dollars on the paternity test results coming through the ‘Maury’ show every single day while still in the league.
Speaking on ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq’, O’Neal recalled getting up every morning to make wagers on whether or not the guests were or were not the fathers of the children in question.
“Every morning at 10 A.M., we’d wake up with thousands of dollars and watch the Maury Povich show and we’d make bets on who the father is. Every day,” he said.
We’d watch, it we’d let them talk, then we’d pause it and pull that money out. Every morning for years. Then that damn jingle used to come on—”For a great low rate”—so I always had it in my head.”
The Diesel was discussing his partnership with The General when he brought this story up.
Presumably, it was during his time with the Miami Heat as he said that Udonis Haslem, who was a guest on the podcast, witnessed his strange bets.
