Shaq did not take it easy on James Harden at all.
O’Neal spoke on TNT’s “Inside the NBA” and shared his thoughts on Harden’s exit from Houston. The hall of famer specifically questioned whether Harden gave Houston his all, as the guard claimed during his last interview as a member of the team.
“When you say you gave the city your all, that ain’t true,” O’Neal said.
“You asked for Dwight Howard. We gave him to you. It didn’t work out. You asked for Chris Paul. We gave him to you. You asked for some shooters. We gave it to you. You asked for Westbrook, your homeboy from little league, we gave him to you. It didn’t work out.
“When you say I gave you everything, I say no you didn’t … He ain’t do nothing. He ain’t step up when he was supposed to step up.”
Harden entered the season unhappy and out of shape. And it’s shown in his play on the court, as he’s only averaging 17.8 points in the last 4 games. It has been his longest streak without a 20 point game since he was on the bench in OKC.
His terrible exit from the team left a bad taste in the mouth of Rockets fans, who have now turned on him as he gets set to open a new restaurant in the Houston area.
