In a recent episode of the show First Take, host Stephen A. Smith asked retired NFL player Shannon Sharpe about the Boston Celtics’ performance in the Eastern Conference finals. In response, Sharpe made some controversial statements regarding the Celtics’ playoff run, suggesting that they should be down 2-1. He also criticized the Indiana Pacers for not performing well in the playoffs.
“They Have been really good, but teams have been really bad, especially the Pacers, in the clutch situation. The Pacers should be up 2-1. They gave the game one way; they gave the game three-way. Give the Celtics credit for hanging in there and figuring out how to make shots down the stretch…” Sharpe said.

Shannon Sharpe Praises Celtics Guard Jrue Holiday
Sharpe also commended Jrue Holiday for his exceptional performance during the playoffs. He pointed out that Holiday and Derrick White are both excellent ball handlers for the Celtics, alongside Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Sharpe emphasized that Holiday has a significant advantage in the game.
“We saw him [Jrue Holiday] in the NBA finals when he took the ball out of Booker’s hands. We saw what he did against Nembhard the other night. Yeah, they are not going to be able to get away. If you go down 18 to the Dallas Mavericks, you ain’t coming back. With those two outstanding ballhandlers, you have a great defensive backcourt with Holiday and Derrick White. Holiday is going to have his hands full with Luka Doncic, Derrick White, and Kyrie Irving.” Sharpe added.
In Game 3, the Boston Celtics overcame an eighteen-point deficit to upset the Indiana Pacers. In the last minute of the game, Jrue Holiday converted a three-point play and made a play that saved the game. Holiday ended with three assists, nine rebounds, and 14 points.
