Alex Villanueva probably never should’ve brought up LeBron at all.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff challenged NBA superstar LeBron James to step up and help find the gunman who ambushed and shot two deputies in Compton seemingly for no reason at all.
Villanueva went on the radio show 790KABC on Monday night and challenged James to double the reward money being offered to find the gunman.
Among the many people to rip him for his comments was Shannon Sharpe.
The NFL hall of famer took to Twitter and buried the sheriff by bringing up him and his department sharing photos of Kobe’s accident scene earlier this year and then covering it up after it happened.

Vanessa Bryant also called out the sheriff for this action earlier in the day.
Bryant is suing the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department after several deputies were found to be sharing graphic photos of the Jan. 26 helicopter crash that killed her husband, their 13-year-old daughter, Gigi, and seven others. Villanueva confirmed in March that eight deputies were involved in sharing the photos.
